Celebrate African American & Black History Month with a meaningful and creative learning experience at the South Whittier Library.

Participants will learn about the historical places and spaces where African American families gathered to rest, relax, and be their full selves during times when access to public spaces was limited.

After the presentation, attendees will take part in a hands-on activity by creating their own “Black Beaches” bag to honor these important cultural spaces.
