CAPC, Inc. Celebrates 40 Years of Compassion, Empowerment, and Dedication: A Ruby Celebration!

Whittier, CA , July 1, 2023 – CAPC, Inc., a non-profit organization committed to serving individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD), is thrilled to announce the commemoration of its 40th Anniversary. This milestone marks four decades of unwavering dedication to providing comprehensive support and empowering countless lives in our community.

Founded in 1984, CAPC, Inc. has been at the forefront of advocating for the rights and well-being of individuals with IDD. Our organization has always stood firm in its mission to create an inclusive society where all individuals are treated with dignity, respect, and compassion. Our programs and services have been instrumental in promoting independence, self-advocacy, and ensuring access to opportunities for personal growth and achievement. Through skill-building workshops, inclusive educational initiatives, employment services, and personalized care, we have continuously strived to enhance the quality of life for those we serve.

“This momentous occasion would not have been possible without the unwavering support and contributions of our key stakeholders, esteemed board members, dedicated staff, and the entire community.” CAPC CEO, Shauna Steele stated, “We extend our deepest gratitude to each and every individual who has been part of this incredible journey. Your commitment and belief in our mission have been the driving force behind our achievements.”

CAPC began to provide services for adults with disabilities as an expansion of the Whittier Union High School District’s and Whittier Area Cooperative’s Special Education Program. The foundation laid by our founders and past leaders has been a guiding light, and we are forever grateful for their vision and dedication to this cause. Over the past four decades, our community members have been a source of inspiration, resilience, and hope. Each achievement, every milestone, and the progress we’ve witnessed in the lives of those we serve is a testament to the power of unity and collective compassion.

As we look forward to the future, we remain steadfast in our commitment to serving individuals with IDD, ensuring they have the necessary tools and support to reach their full potential. We are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead and are eager to continue fostering a society that embraces diversity and promotes equal opportunities for all. Join us in celebrating 40 years of compassion, empowerment, and dedication as we mark this Ruby Celebration.
